How is Alimony Calculated in California?

How alimony is calculated in California is different than the way many other things are calculated. For instance, California has what’s known as the California Child Support Guidelines which is an algebraic equation that figures the amount of child support based on some very specific numbers. There is no such equation for figuring spousal support. So in the absence of a set of specific guidelines, the amount of alimony calculated in California can vary from judge to judge based on everything from the attitude of the judge toward spousal support in general, to the facts of the particular divorce.

There are some very general guidelines that determine how alimony is calculated in California, and each judge should take these into consideration when coming up with an amount of spousal support. In general, the amount of spousal support depends on the reasonable needs of the spouse seeking support, along with the other spouse’s ability to pay. But other factors come into play. Breckenridge Ski Vacations

One of the most popular mountain resort towns in America is Breckenridge, Colorado. For decades, this quaint little Victorian-style village has been pleasing guests from all over the world, charming them with the style even as the mountain’s challenges thrill them. The mountains of Breckenridge have a special feel and flavor about them. They slopes are both dynamic and somehow immense and still , immovably powerful… adding to the alure for those who have chosen Breckenridge as a spot for this years ski vacations.

Even the most basic and easy of runs, the bunny slopes, have something more challenging just a short distance above them – right there, visible and tangible, calling upon you to improve your skills so that you can rise to that next level. And yet, somehow, even if you go too far up the mountain for your skill level, bite off more than you can chew, Breckenridge remains forgiving, seems willing to allow you to fail on your way to greater success. Solar Energy in Florida – News Update

It looks like people are finally taking alternative energy seriously.  A city in Florida is about to pass a law that requires the power company to buy back ALL solar-generated electricity, and to pay for it at 26 cents per kilowatt if the amount generated exceeds the cost of the monthly bill.  This is a huge advance!  There have been areas that required a buy-back, but it only rolled your meter back, didn’t generate any cash.  This move could encourage people to make their roofs into a small home business, lower foreign fuel consumption and lower greenhouse gas at the same time!  This is great solar energy news, and a great example to set from Florida!

But that’s not the only example Florida has set.  It seems there’s a state law, a moratorium against offshore drilling.  It may have been urged by their tourism, but it’s also pretty certain that the citizens of that state didn’t want to be having to worry about offshore oil rigs leaking or being torn up and ruining their shores.  This is especially responsible since the waters off of the Florida Keys and on up into the Gulf Stream move swiftly north to Canada and then across the Atlantic to head back down to Scotland and the rest of the UK.  Oddly enough, the Feds were pushing to do exploratory drilling, even though the State has made it unlawful, “just to see what’s there”, allegedly with no intent to actually drill.  Yeah, right.  Way to go, Florida!  Keep ‘em at bay!
